Assessments

Research at the HNRNPH2 Family Meeting 2018:

Electroencephalogram (EEG) and Music:

Receptive language skills were assessed using an EEG with music paradigm. Pictured here: the child wears the EEG cap while listening to familiar children's songs, spoken versions of the same songs, and silence. Throughout the three sequences, the child watches images on a screen.

Kinematic Evaluation of Gait:

The children wear SoleSound Pedishoe sandals for recording gait [not pictured here]. These sandals are light, comfortable, and colorful. They are embedded with pressure sensors and accelerometers to collect motion and position data. The GaitRite TM is a non-invasive walkway of approximately 4,25 meter long and equipped with 16,128 floor sensors. As the child walks naturally on the walkway the system records gait, such as step length and speed. The child is also be asked to run a short distance, get up from a chair, and walk for a period of 6 minutes followed by the examiner.
